It’s official: Eurovision 2015 Final on May 23

23 July 2014 at 20:38 CEST

While the preliminary dates for Europe’s favourite TV show had been announced previously for the 12th, 14th and 16th of May, today, the EBU and the host broadcaster ORF agreed on changing the dates to a week later.

This means that the first Semi-Final will be on Tuesday, the 19th, the second Semi-Final on Thursday, the 21st and the Grand Final on Saturday, the 23rd of May.

The change in dates is due to the fact it fits the cities participating in the host city bid best and due to other events in the world.

Director General of ORF already pointed out the preferred dates for ORF in an interview earlier this week. The EBU approved the new dates after some consideration.

In the next few weeks, ORF is planning also to reach to a decision on the host city and venue.

Austria will be hosting the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest as their participant this year, Conchita Wurst won the contest in Copenhagen with her song Rise Like A Phoenix.
