It's Mandinga for Romania

Tonight, we finally found out who will represent Romania in Baku in May. 15 songs competed to represent their country but after the professional jury and public had voted it was clear who the winner was.

Mandinga with Zaleilah had a convincing victory and will now wave the Romanian flag in Baku on the 22nd of May.

The show took place over three sessions with the 15 acts split into the first two with the results being read out in the third. There were very special guest appearances from amongst others Anggun from France and Jedward from Ireland. Of course last year's Romanian representatives, Hotel FM, were also present at the competition.

Different outcomes for televote and jury

Although Mandinga won the competition tonight, Electric fence with Şun-ta won Jury vote. Mandinga however took the televote very convincingly so with the combined scores took the victory.

Here is the top three:

  • 1st place: Mandinga - Zaleilah (22 points)
  • 2nd place: Electric Fence - Şun-ta (19 points)
  • 3rd place: Cătălin Josan - Call My Name (18 points)
