Last year, Mei Finegold was internally selected to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen; but this year a different approach is being taken by IBA.
This year, IBA has decided to collaborate with Keshet Broadcasting and Tedy Productions, who were also involved in the participation of Boaz for Israel back in 2008.
The Israeli representative this year will be the winner of the popular TV talent show, הכוכב הבא(Rising Star) produced by Tedy Productions and broadcast by Keshet.
The Final will take place in Jerusalem on Tuesday the 17th of February and the winner will be chosen by the viewers using a special app and the programme's celebrity judges.
The four remaining contestants are:

Avia Shoshani
Nadav Guedj
Iki Levy & The Rasta Hebrew Men.

Following the winner being decided, a professional committee will choose the song a few days later.
In 2014 Mei Finegold did not manage to qualify to the Grand Final of Europe's Favourite TV Show in Copenhagen with her song Same Heart. You can see the video below:
Israel will take part in the second half of the second Semi-Final of the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest to be held at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria on the 21st of May. The Grand Final takes place on the 23rd of May.
