Israel: Noa Kirel premieres 'Unicorn'
08 March 2023 at 21:45 CETNoa Kirel became the very first artist confirmed for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest way back in July of 2022. Israeli broadcaster KAN announced that they had selected her after discussing no less than 78 potential artists.
8 months later, and we're now getting the first play of the song she'll be taking to Liverpool, Unicorn.
Despite turning a youthful 22 in April, Noa Kirel is no newcomer to pop, having released her debut single at the age of just 14.
In the 8 years that have followed, Noa has been racking up millions of streams across her repertoire of hits, and has even been awarded Best Israeli Act at the MTV EMA Awards an unprecedented 5 times, between 2017 and 2022.
Her resume has also bulked up considerably in recent years, with the singer and dancer now adding actress to her skillset, following starring roles and voiceover work in a number of films.
Noa's star shines so bright in Israel, she has also landed a gig on Israel's Got Talent in the past- not as a contestant, but as a judge!
In 2020, Noa Kirel signed with Atlantic Records and started releasing music internationally, in English. It's a move that has introduced her to a whole new legion of fans across the globe. In May, however, she's all set to take her music to the biggest platform of them all, when she performs Unicorn at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.
Unicorn is composed by Doron Medalie, Yinon Yahel and May Sfadia. Doron has won the Eurovision Song Contest as a composer before, in 2018 when Netta won with Toy.
Israel will perform in the Second Semi-Final at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
