Ishtar entered the Ultratop 50 at number seven last week. This week the group climbed to the first place. The winners of Eurosong, the Flemish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, traditionally score well in the charts since the introduction of Ultratop 50, the official single charts in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels.Â
Lisa Del Bo reached the second place with Liefde Is Een Kaartspel in 1996. Vanessa Chinitor with Like The Wind in (1999) and Sergio with Sister (2002) both reached the third place.
This year, it's Flanders' turn to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest. Flanders, the Dutch-speaking community in Belgium represented by broadcaster VRT, and the French-speaking community represented by RTBF, take turns. Next year, it's up to the French-speaking community to send a song to the Contest.
