Ahead of 'The Late Late Eurosong Special' at the end of January, Irish broadcaster RTÉ has announced the 6 names in the running to represent Ireland at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest.

It's become a Friday night to look forward to on the Eurovision pre-selection calendar. And in 2024, Ireland will once again be using The Late Late Eurosong as the live extravaganza through which to select its entry to the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

In a first, however, the evening of entertainment will be hosted by Patrick Kielty, who took over as presenter of RTÉ's The Late Late Show in 2023.

After Liverpool 2023, Ireland's RTÉ was one of the first to put out the call for song submissions for its entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

Out of the hundreds of songs that were sent in, 6 have been selected by RTÉ to compete in its national final, and the names of the 6 artists that will be performing them have now been unveiled by the broadcaster.

The Late Late Eurosong Special goes out on Friday 26 January at 22:35 CET on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

It'll be one of these 6 participants that will have the honour of flying the Irish flag on behalf of the Emerald Isle in Malmö:

Erica Cody – Love Me Like I Do

Ailsha – Go Tobann

JyellowL feat. Toshín – Judas

Isabella Kearney – Let Me Be the Fire

Bambie Thug – Doomsday Blue

Next In Line - Love Like Us

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Ireland was represented by the band Wild Youth, who had won The Late Late Eurosong Special in January of the same year.

With their song We Are One, the band gave Ireland a 12th-place finish at the First Semi-Final in Liverpool.
