Il Volo return to Eurovision for the Second Semi-Final in Turin 🇮🇹
27 April 2022 at 20:30 CESTThe familiar faces – and voices – of Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero will be a welcome addition to proceedings on Thursday 12 May. The trio, who represented Italy at Eurovision with their song Grande Amore, were a huge hit with viewers of the Contest in 2015, topping the televote and ultimately finishing in 3rd place. At the time, the song’s points tally of 292 was a record-breaking one for Italy.
Now, viewers of the 2022Â Eurovision Song Contest will also be treated to a special performance, which is likely to be a big highlight for anyone in attendance at Pala Olimpico on the Thursday evening, as well as for those of us watching at home.

About Il Volo
Before the likes of One Direction and Little Mix, Gianluca, Ignazio and Piero set the trend of TV producers putting together talented individuals into groups after they had competed as solo artists in the Italian singing competition Ti Lascio Una Canzone back in 2009.
In the years since, they’ve toured the world from Latin and North America in the west to Japan in the east. And in 2019, they released a Greatest Hits album celebrating their first ten years together. That same year they participated in Sanremo once more, equalling the bronze-place finish they achieved for their country at Eurovision.

This Autumn sees the worldwide release of the collection 10 Years, which contains the best of Il Volo’s repertoire, from “O Sole Mio” to My Way and, of course, Grande Amore! Their latest album Il Volo Sings Morricone (2021) is an extraordinary journey into the art of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, with the support of Andrea Morricone and the whole family.
After the Contest, they’ll resume a world tour that will start in Barcelona and will see them starring in the most prestigious European locations throughout the summer and then from September they’ll be in Canada and North America.
- The Second Semi-Final takes place in Turin on Thursday 12Â May.
