The last semi-final included five more hopefuls trying to reach the final on Saturday 6th of February. The two songs that managed to do so were the ones with the highest number of sms-and televotes (qualifiers in bold):

  • Arnar Jónsson - Þúsund Stjörnur
  • Sjonni Brinck - Waterslide
  • Hera Björk - Je Ne Sais Quoi
  • Steinarr Logi Nesheim - Every Word
  • Anna Hlín - Komdu Á Morgun Til Mín

Hera Björk was the runner-up of the Danish national selection last year with Someday and she has provided backing vocals for Iceland in the 2008 and 2009 Eurovision Song Contests. Arnar Jónsson and Sjonni Brinck have also tried their luck in previous Icelandic selections.

The line-up of the Icelandic final now looks like this:

  • Íris Hólm - The One
  • Matthías Matthíasson - Out Of Sight
  • Hvanndalsbræður - Gleði Og Glens
  • Jógvan Hansen - One More Day
  • Hera Björk - Je Ne Sais Quoi
  • Sjonni Brinck - Waterslide

You can listen to all of the candidates in the official website of the Icelandic selection. Next Saturday 30th of January, there will be a warm up show where the six songs of the final will be summed up.

Iceland will try to win the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time this year in Norway, the country where they debuted in the 1986 contest. Last year they came 2nd in Moscow with Yohanna's Is It True?
