Icelandic broadcaster RÚV has unveiled the 10 artists that will be taking part in the latest edition of 'Söngvakeppnin', with the 10 songs also being released, too.

One of the most anticipated song competitions across Europe every springtime, Söngvakeppnin returns to Icelandic Saturday-night television in February.

For its 2024 edition, Söngvakeppnin will have two semi-finals, taking place on 17 and 24 February, and a final which is happening on 2 March.

10 songs are competing for the honour of lifting that sought-after Söngvakeppnin trophy. These 10 were selected after an initial 118 compositions had been submitted to national broadcaster RÚV.

5 songs will compete in each of the two semis, during which Icelandic television viewers will be tasked with voting for their faves and deciding the lineup of that final in March.

On Saturday 27 January, RÚV released the songs - so we can already get listening to them ahead of the competition commencing on 17 February.

As in previous years, every competing entry must be released in an Icelandic-language version, with an English-language version also being released if the artist behind it wishes. Below, you can listen to the 10 songs in Icelandic.
