Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, will once again be the name under which Iceland will pick their entry for Europe's favourite TV-show. The precise format is yet to be revealed, though, but the open call for songs has already been announced.
Up to three entries can be submitted to the broadcaster by each composer and it's also allowed for them to collaborate with foreign authors. The national selection itself will be held next January and February.
This year, Iceland qualified for the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with Hera Björk's Je Ne Sais Quoi, as they have done every year since the introduction of two Semi-Finals. She finished 19th in the show, placing third in the first Semi-Final.
