Song writers, composers and artists can send in songs to MTV until the 2nd of February. "A selection committee, made up of musicians, radio- and television editors and other industry professionals will then decide who will represent Hungary at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest," Prónay-Zakar explained.
Mid-February, the Hungarian public and international Eurovision Song Contest fans will find out who will represent the country in Moscow. Prónay-Zakar: "We have plans to present the song during a special television show, but no concrete information is available yet."
Hungary took part in the Eurovision Song Contest between 1994 and 1998. Despite a successful 4th place for Friderika Bayer with Kinek Mondjam El Vétkeimet in 1994, it would take until Hungary's return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 to get a top-10 position as the group NOX finished 5th in the Semi-Final. Last year's representative Csézy finished 16th in the second Semi-Final.
