Hungary: Qualifying artists in last year's A Dal semifinal MTVA
Since it was introduced in 2012, A Dal has become one of the most successful national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest in all of Europe. Today Hungarian public broadcaster Duna Media Service Provider Ltd. has launched an open call for submissions - songs can be entered until November 25th.

A Dal 2016 will follow the same concept as in previous years: In a series of preliminary heats, the selected acts will compete for a place in the final show. The qualifiers will be chosen by a combination of televoting and an expert jury.

Song submissions can be made at MTVA until November 25th. Performers of the songs have to be Hungarian citizens or have to speak Hungarian as their native language. Composers who are foreign citizens and whose native language is not Hungarian may only enter the contest if their song is recorded with an artist complying with this rule.

Songs submitted to A Dal 2016 should preferably be written in Hungarian language. However, the contestants may enter their songs in English, provided they hand in a Hungarian trranslation of the lyrics. A detailed version of the rules can be found on the official A Dal website
