The concert will take place in the Amsterdam Marcanti, a former theatre which has recently been transformed into one of Amsterdam’s most up to date venues for big events. The Amsterdam Marcanti expects to welcome more than 1500 Eurovision fans and press from all over Europe to support their 2009 Eurovision Song Contest favourites. The concert will be hosted by former Dutch representatives Marga Bult and Maggie Mac Neal.
The event is turning out to become a dress rehearsal for Moscow. The organisers were overwhelmed by the massive interest of all the European delegations. They said to have expected six to seven countries taking part, instead 22 will be present!
The Eurovision Song Contest representatives of the following countries will take part in the concert: Serbia, Armenia, Spain, Iceland, Denmark, Moldova, Albania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Malta, United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Belarus, Montenegro, Belgium, Ireland, Cyprus, Poland, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
What about before the event?
Preliminary to the concert in Amsterdam, there will be a day programme in The Hague. Right after the press conference, they will be offered a bustour through the city of the Hague, hosted by the Dutch representatives in Moscow, The Toppers.
The programme in The Hague will be concluded by a visit to Madurodam, a miniature city which represents all the well known sites of the Netherlands. Then all delegations will head to Amsterdam to get prepared for the concert.
