Have 33 supporters? Be in the Austrian selection!

"Eurovision Song Contest is a bit like playing the lottery: somehow, the chances to win are, of course, very small and you can influence it only very little, but you must still participate and do the best you can," Ö3 station manager, George Spatt, opened the search for the Austrian candidates for the 2011 edition of Europe's favourite TV-show.

A call is made for professional musicians and producers but music is expected from everyone. According to the rules, everyone can send in their entries, on the condition they have at least 33 supporters.

"After all, we owe the best Eurovision Song Contest result of the last 20 years with the sixth place in 2003 by Alf Poier a cabaret artist and not a trained musician," Spatt points out.

Austria participated last at Europe's favourite TV-show in 2007 with Eric Papilaya's Get A Life - Get Alive when they finished 27th in the Semi-Final.
