Both the authors and the singers have to be Georgian citizens to be eligible. The national selection is scheduled to take place mid-February.

Georgia was drawn to participate in the First Semi-Final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, to take place on the 10th of May in Düsseldorf. Till now, Georgia has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest three times, and all representatives have so far managed to reach the Final.
