Iru Khechanovi has won 'The Voice' in Georgia, and with that, a ticket to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.

Taking nearly a fifth of the televote, Iru beat 7 other competitors to win after more than two months of tough rounds, including auditions, battles, quarter-finals, semi-finals and Thursday evening's final.

It is the first time that the Georgian public have had a say in selecting the country's Eurovision Song Contest artist since 2020, after internal selections in both 2021 and 2022.

She's no stranger to a Eurovision stage, having won Junior Eurovision with the group Candy in 2011, reforming for a special performance at the 20th Junior Eurovision in Yerevan last year.

According to broadcaster GPB, time will now be spent selecting and perfecting the right song for Liverpool 2023.

Georgia will perform in the Second Semi-Final at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest in May.

Circus Mircus represented Georgia at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. Lock Me In finished 18th in its Semi-Final.
