Gentle sounds and a starry sky for Moldova

07 May 2013 at 14:02 CEST

Before her first rehearsal, Aliona Moon was mingling backstage, watching the rehearsal of Roberto Bellarosa on the screens. As Aliona Moon had been a backing vocalist in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, she knew the backstage procedures already. "I'm excited but not nervous", she said.

Aliona was wearing very high heels today. "They are not for the stage performance - I will wear something more safe in the Semi-Final", she explained.

Pasha Parfeny, who was the representative of Moldova in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, wrote and produced Aliona's song O Mie. This year he will support her as a backing artist. "I can't wait to go on stage - now is the moment when we do get nervous a bit", he stated before entering the soundcheck area.

The Moldovan delegation was still looking for Aliona's final dress backstage. "It's the biggest dress of the night, we had to send it to Malmö beforehand - it measures 5 metres!"

As Aliona, Pasha and her dancers still had time before going on stage, they gave a spontaneous performance of their Eurovision entries, which you will be able to see in our video footage!

Aliona Moon gave a confident performance today, and her dress was impressive indeed: It's long and white, and a fiery glow was projected on it, while the background scenery showed a starry sky. Smoke effects were also used.

Aliona was standing on a podium which was lifted toward the end of the song, with the dress unfolding and extending along with it. Three dancers were supporting Aliona on stage, as well as Pasha Parfeny, who played the piano.
