French public broadcaster, France 2, opted for an internal selection in 2016. After sorting through hundreds of applications, the broadcaster has made a decision as to which act will represent France in Stockholm. Who it will be? You will find out on the 12th of March when the entry will be announced during The Dicaire Show which will be broadcast on France 2.

Preparations for the announcement of this year’s French entry are in full swing. In September 2015, a new team with Edoardo Grassi as head of delegation, began the selection procedure in France. The team put a lot of energy and ideas into the search for an act to represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest. This year’s song will be bilingual, partly in French and partly in English. On the 12th of March Eurovision fans will hear the song for the first time and know who will perform it in Stockholm.

We had several songs coming from independent artists this year. It was a good surprise for the entire delegation. There were also numerous artists who where signed in a major company already, said Edoardo Grassi.

Earlier this month the team posted a teasing picture from the photo shoot on Twitter:

Only last week they posted another cryptic tweet on their official Eurovision Song Contest Twitter account:

As one of the so-called Big Five, France will participate in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 14th May 2016.
