His song, Occidentali’s Karma, has notched up over 123 million views on YouTube and has been certified four times platinum in Italy. Since Kyiv he has been a guest on major shows on both RAI and Mediaset in Italy and this weekend he will host the 2017 MTV Awards live from Rome. The singer has just released his new single, Tra Le Granite E Le Granate. Check out the video below!
Tra Le Granite E Le Granate is currently topping the airplay charts in Italy and so far his video has received more than 6.5 million views in a matter of days. The song is a playful comment on how people spend their holidays, on crowded beaches or trapped in queues, trying to run away from a dull life, to which they will soon return to. Francesco's album, Magellano, is also storming the charts, and is number one in Italy. The international version, Magellan, has hit the iTunes charts in 13 countries.
Earlier this year Francesco Gabbani won the main section of the Italian festival, Sanremo, where he made history by becoming the first artist ever to win in different categories of the festival in consecutive years. Since Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, the country has scored five top ten placings in the Grand Final.
