French viewers will have the opportunity to select their 2021 representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam during a unique evening broadcast by France Télévisions.

In agreement with the French public broadcaster, 2020 representative Tom Leeb will not return to Eurovision for France due to new projects on the artist's schedule. After having selected Tom internally last January, France Télévisions decided to give the floor to the French public to choose the country's song and artist.

With the cancellation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, the country decided to broadcast their selection earlier than usual to keep fans engaged and entertained. The new national selection concept will broadcast from an arena outside of Paris.

France Télévisions will launch a call for applications on 29 June; all those interested in representing their country at Eurovision 2021 are encouraged to apply! More details on the show will be released in the coming weeks.
