The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the most popular TV shows on the web. In France it's no exception and their broadcasters France Télévisions are offering a lot of possibilities to "allow us to be more than ever a social media" incorporating Social TV during the prime time show.
The event will be tweeted live from the accounts @france3tv @franceotv and @francetvdirect with the associated hashtag #eurofrancetv that will be shown on screen. Some users' tweets will be even shown live on TV! A unique multi-screen plan on a dedicated website will cover every aspect of the program so that the fans don't miss any part of it.
This website will include the live streaming, the tweet wall, all there is to know about Anggun and the other candidates, as well as flashback informations about previous Eurovision contests. It will also be possible to vote for your favorite candidate and directly join the fan community through the forum.
Besides this, three guests will go with France Télévisions' team to Baku to be the backstage eyes and ears of the viewers during the Semi-Final and the Final that will be broadcasted live. Backstage, press room, artist's room... they will be everywhere trying to capture what happens behind the scenes. This special feature will be available through the official France Télévisions medias (Facebook, YouTube, etc).
Echoes all over Europe
Meanwhile, their performer in Baku, Anggun, has started an original campaign to keep promoting the French entry Echo, and that is to record duets with some international artists for their own markets.
In Malta, Anggun has made a duet with this year's runner-up in the Maltese national final, Claudia Faniello. The song is called Echo (There is you and I):
With the Danish performer at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, Niels Brinck, Anggun has made the duet Echo (Losing you and I):
For the Hungarian market she has teamed up with Viktor Varga in Visszhang (You and I)
And the final duet with Keo from Romania it's also called Echo (You and I)
The rest of Anggun's promotional activities are in full swing: she's been in Italy headlining the bill of artists on the Earth Day Italia concert in Naples, along with many Italian artists, including Italy's performer at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, Enrico Ruggeri.
She also had time to present the French entry to the Italian audience on the RAI2 show London Live 2.0. and to announce that she will tour after the Eurovision Song Contest. You can already buy tickets to the concert at the Trianon in Paris on the 13th of June.
