For the third year in a row, Lithuanian public broadcaster (LRT), decided to turn its national selection into an eight-week-long Eurovision marathon with six TV shows, one semi-final and the final! Tonight, in another pre-recorded show, further eight competing acts were introduced, but only five qualified.
The second show of the Lithuanian national selection was aired on January 16, and it featured another eight performances. One more time, the artists who applied with a song had a chance to compete tonight. Eight more entries were introduced, but only five advanced in this year's national selection.
The contestants performed their entries in the following order

Like in the previous show, another five qualifiers haven been chosen, after the votes of a jury panel (Lithuanian and international) and public televoting were merged.
The national jury in the second show consists of Ramūnas Zilnys, Darius Užkuraitis, Nomeda Kazlaus and Vaidas Baumila. The international experts are Peter Freudenthaler, the lead singer of the German band Fools Garden, the British performer Syron and Karl Frierson, a member of the German jazz ensemble De-Phazz. Like in the first show, they have already given their points.
Ten quailfiers chosen so far
Together with the acts chosen last week, in the previous episode of the Lithuanian 'Eurovizija' marathon aired on January 9, there are ten participants who advanced in the competition up to this point.

10 shows, 27 acts, one ticket to Sweden
On December 21, 2015, LRT announced the names of 28 artists selected for this year's national selection. Among the contestants, there are also some well-known Eurovision faces. Erica Jennings represented Lithuania in 2001 (as a member of the group SKAMP), and Donny Montell, who took part in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest.
In the meantime, the Lithuanian public broadcaster confirmed that there will be 27 acts competing for the role of Lithuanian representative in Stockholm at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. The national selection will take place on Saturday 12th March 2016.
