The first of two semi-finals of the FYR Macedonian national selection was broadcast live from the Univerzalna Sala in Skopje tonight. Out of sixteen songs, eight qualified for the final according to the combined vote (50/50) of a twelve-member expert jury and the TV public. This is the final ranking of tonight's show (qualifiers in bold):

Tomorrow, the second semi-final of the Skopje Festival will take place, and again, eight songs will go forward to the final, which will take place on Saturday. So far, FYR Macedonia has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest eight times. The best result to date was reached by Elena Risteska in 2006 - she came 12th in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Ninanajna.
