Fans invite artist to party this weekend

The events' weekend, organised by fans for the fans, kicks off already tonight in London where the second UK Preview Party will be held. Christina Metaxa from Cyprus, Lidia (Poland), Elena (Romania), Krassimir Avramov (Bulgaria), Svetlana Loboda (Ukraine) and Yohanna (Iceland). 

They'll be joined by the UK entries from 1998 - Imaani - and Jessica Garlic (2002), as well as one half of the duo representing Iceland last year - Fridrik Omar. 

The event will be hosted by the BBC Semi-Final commentator Paddy O'Connell and the UK's 2000 representative Nicky French.

The party runs from 21:00 to 4:00 UK time, with DJ Dave Simmons managing the decks. The Eurovision Song Contest and Schlager specialist DJ has already DJ'd some great official Eurovision Song Contest parties at the Euroclub in recent years.

Amsterdam goes Eurovision

On Saturday, the London event will be followed by a huge fan gathering in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Marcanti expects to welcome more than 1500 Eurovision fans and press from all over Europe to support their 2009 Eurovision Song Contest favourites. The concert will be hosted by former Dutch representatives Marga Bult and Maggie Mac Neal.

The representatives of the following countries will take part in the concert: Serbia, Armenia, Spain, Iceland, Denmark, Moldova, Albania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Malta, United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Belarus, Montenegro, Belgium, Ireland, Cyprus, Poland, Lithuania and Bulgaria.
