To reduce the number of songs for the final, a semi-final will be held on the 24th of January. The final of Go Malta Song For Europe 2008 is scheduled for the 26th of January. The following 17 lucky ones will compete for eight spots in the semi-final of the Maltese national selection for Belgrade;

Familiar faces The selection features some familiar faces. Mary Spiteri represented Malta at the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest, Chris & Moira had the honour in 1994. Go Malta Song For Europe 2008 will be hosted by John Demanuele, Ruth Casingena and Chiara, who successfully represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 (3rd) and in 2005 (2nd).
