Eurovision.tv build-up diary (2)
01 May 2008 at 18:16 CESTWe spoke with TV producer Darko Kamarit of Host Broadcaster RTS, who is in charge of the build-up at the arena. "We are currently finishing the construction of the stage. I think we've completed about 70 percent of the work so far. There is 70 tons of equipment hanging above us already, and now we have to get things done on floor level," Darko explained.
On the 4th of May, lighting designer Per Sundin and his team from Sweden will start programming light design at the arena. "They will do that during the night shifts," Darko said. "This will go in sequence with the installation of all camera equipment." The OB-van (Outside Broadcasting) where all camera and sound signals will come together and the director and his team are doing their work, will arrive one day earlier.
"We have no time to relax, because there is a lot of work to be done. But it's a lot of fun as well! Putting people from Serbia, Germany, Estonia, Sweden and a couple of other countries together creates a funny atmosphere. Those Germans for example... they are so precise," Darko laughs.
