Eurovision Song Contest now available on iPhone

For the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest the EBU introduces a new iPhone application. The features include news, gossip and fan stories. You can get all the information about Moscow, the Host City this year. It's possible to see all the participant's videos, lyrics and even buy their music online.

"For us it's symbolic to be also available on the iPhone as the Eurovision Song Contest is a state-of-the-art TV-show and the iPhone has defined a new standard in mobile computing. Connecting those two just seemed logical," said Nicoletta Iacobacci, Head of Eurovision Interactive TV at the EBU.

The Grand Final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest will be held this Saturday, 16th of May at 21.00 CET in Moscow. 25 songs will participate in and the winner will be chosen by a combined vote between professional juries and televoters in 42 countries. The show will be broadcast to some 45 countries worldwide and deserves an audience of over 100 million people.
