Eurovision in Concert: Sneak peek of May

06 April 2014 at 19:05 CEST

Sneak peek at the 2014 contest

Prior to the concert that took place last night, there was an opportunity for the artists to meet the press for a series of one to one interviews that took place in the afternoon. In addition there was a short presentation by Jan Lagermand Lundme (Head of Show, Danish broadcaster DR). The press were shown a shot of how the stage will look, with the diamond motif featuring heavily in the design,

There was also a look at the postcards from Austria, Finland and the Netherlands, featuring the artists filmed in their home country, and in a similiar fashion to the postcards from the 1998 contest, there are some ingenious methods by which the artists produce images of thei national flags. Some will appear more obvious to the viewing audience than others, and the fun will be in trying to spot where the formation of the flag is coming from.

Some 1500 fans attended the concert in the evening. Many queued  for several hours in order to secure the best view in the venue. The show was presented by Cornald Maas and Sandra Reemer. Special guests were, 2013 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Emmelie de Forest and  the Dutch entrants from 1986, Frizzle Sizzle.
