
Eurovision final nominated for TV award
26 September 2011 at 21:25 CESTAfter this year's Eurovision Song Contest NDR has received much praise for the perfectly organised show - Now the show has been nominated for a prize at the German TV Awards. In the category of "Best Entertainment", Europe's favourite TV show is competing with I'm A Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here and Let's Dance.
Particularly pleased about the nomination is director of NDR, Lutz Marmor, especially as NDR has also received a nomination for another prodcution in the category of "Best TV Film" with Homevideo.
Contemporary Television of the Highest Quality
"A super show, which was incredibly well received abroad and an ambitious TV film looking at the controversial issue of cyber-bullying: The final of the Eurovision Song Contest and Homevideo, represent different types of contemporary television of the highest quality. just being nominated is an honour. I'm crossing my fingers for the creators", said Marmor.
Awards Ceremony on the 2nd of October in Cologne
If the prize should go to the Eurovision Song Contest, the three presenters, Anke Engelke, Judith Rakers and Stephan Raab will be honoured together with Thomas Schreiber (NDR) as the Executive Producer of the show, Jörg Grabosch from Brainpool TV GmbH, Stage Designer Florian Wieder and Lighting Designer Jerry Appelt.
The German TV Awards will take place on the 2nd of October at the Cologne Coloneum. The awards have been presented since 1999 by ARD, ZDF, RTL and Sat. 1 to honour excellence in television.
