
'Etapa Națională' lineup announced in Moldova

It's a milestone year for Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest, with Basel 2025 set to be the 20th year that the country presents a song on the Eurovision stage.
The process is well underway for finding that all-important entry, and on Tuesday January 14, broadcaster TRM revealed the names of the 30 songs that will be taking part in Etapa Națională, Moldova's Eurovision pre-selection, as well as the artists that will be performing them.

A preliminary round of Etapa Națională, featuring all 30 songs, will be taking place on Saturday 18 January. There, a jury will decide on the entries that make it through to the final a month later.
The final of Etapa Națională 2025 is happening on Saturday February 22. 10 songs will compete, with the winner decided by both a public vote and a jury, with a 50% weighting given to each.

The winner of Etapa Națională 2024 was the song In The Middle, performed by Natalia Barbu.
Malmö 2024 was the second time that Natalia had represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest. She had previously competed with the song Fight in 2007, giving Moldova a Top 10 finish at the Grand Final in Helsinki.
