Et Cetera, the Irish song this year, has been composed by an international team of songwriters from Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and Italy. Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy looked at ease this morning and didn't seem intimidated by the huge Moscow stage and its impressive LED effects. The rock chicks didn't wear the final stage clothes yet but performed their song confidently. Letters and the words "Et Cetera" were constantly displayed in black/white on the backdrop. Furthermore, an army of bright lights was situated directly at the back part of the stage which were accompanied by stroboscope-like effects. A wind-machine was also used this morning. Despite the unpopular starting position number 2 in the second semi-final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, the catchy and bouncy pop/rock song might leave a lasting impression on the televoters next Tuesday.
21 year-old Sinéad Mulvey started singing professionally at the age of thirteen when she was picked from hundred of girls for the lead role of Cinderella in a Dublin pantomine. Sinéad came very close to representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when she made it to the national final. Sinéad says, “I have been a Eurovision fan for as long as I can remember. Representing Ireland in the Eurovision is truly a dream come true for me and I can’t wait to Rock Russia with Black Daisy and Et Cetera!” Black Daisy are an all girl pop/rock group who hail from Dublin. 26 year-old LA Halvey from Limerick is singer and bassist, 21-year-old Nicki Billings, from Wicklow is on guitar, while Asta Mileriene, originally from Alytus, Lithuania is the drummer.

During the Irish press conference, their Head of Delegation, Julian Vignoles, said that the team liked the stage and the lighting, but there would be some camera and sound issues to be solved. Sinéad and her girls explained that they are proud to be representing Ireland. The singer had her first experience as a singer in "Spice Kids", a junior version of the Spice Girls when she was 10 and has beeen singer ever since. All the girls confirmed that they will have relatives coming over to Moscow to support them in the big show next week. The group was also happy to secure a record deal with Sony Music of which they hope that it might push their career both in Ireland and abroad.
