EQUINOX release 'Bones' for Bulgaria

The group EQUINOX will represent Bulgaria in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Bones'. In recent years Bulgaria has seen a change in fortunes at the Eurovision Song Contest and finished in the top five two years running.

EQUINOX were formed specifically for the Eurovision Song Contest and is composed of five members. Their Eurovision entry, Bones, was produced by Symphonics International (Borislav Milanov, Trey Campbell, Joacim Persson and Dag Lundberg), who were responsible for Bulgaria's recent success in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Zhana Bergendorff

Zhana was the winner of the second season of Bulgaria’s version of the X Factor in 2013. With recent hits like Samuray, Nevazmozhni sme sami, and Dokrai, Zhana has become one of the most successful and controversial Bulgarian female artists in recent years.

Vlado Mihailov

Vladdi is a Bulgarian singer/songwriter and actor and the front man of the popular Bulgarian groups Safo and Sleng. He is no stranger to Eurovision, having been a part of Team Bulgaria as a backing vocalist for Kristian Kostov in Kyiv. As an actor, he has played in two of Bulgaria’s biggest movies of 2017 – Benzin, Heights and Nokaut.   

Georgi Simeonov

JJ is a singer, songwriter and vocal producer. He debuted in the popular Bulgarian boy band 032. In 2013 he began his solo career and released the songs Po-dobre, che razbrah and Dilar na lubov. He teaches pop, soul and RnB singing and has masterclasses in Sofia and Plovdiv. He worked as vocal producer for the albums of one of Bulgaria’s biggest music artists.

Johnny Manuel

Originally from Flint, Michigan, USA, Johnny Manuel has been a performer since childhood, even touring with NSYNC at the age of 14. His incredible performance of Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing on America's Got Talent in 2017, where he eventually reached the Semi-Finals, has accumulated over 270 million views on Facebook. He has released two singles, Come Alive and Blind Faith and is currently working on his debut album with Symphonics International.  

Trey Campbell

The LA’ based songwriter is one of the composers behind “Bones” and important part of Equinox. Trey writes music for artists like Bebe Rexha, Norway’s Julie Bergan and Romania’s Alexandra Stan.   

Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest

Bulgaria made his debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and has participated in the competition 11 times. in 2016 Poli Genova took the country to its best ever placing, fourth in the Grand Final. In 2017 Kristian Kostov beat Poli's record and went on to finish second in the Grand Final with his song Beautiful Mess. Last week he released a new single, Burning Bridges, a collaboration with JOWST who represented Norway in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.

Bulgaria also hosted the 2015 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Sofia.
