We caught up with Elina Nechayeva right after her victory for a first comment:
Elina Nechayeva was born in 1991. In 2016 she graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she studied classical singing. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut, flying between the stars and planets.
It is this same drive that inspired La Forza. On the Eurovision stage Elina will fly between the stars to spread the message that "love heals and lifts us".
Elina has no lack of ambition; she aims to perform opera on the largest stages in the world. To achieve that goal, she needs to take care of her most powerful instrument — her voice. She loves to begin her mornings with a yoga session and a jog:
As a big fan of classical music, she counts Mozart and Tchaikovsky among her favourite composers. She enjoys the clear structure of Mozart’s music and the passion and rich soul of Tchaikovsky.
Elina’s family is of Estonian, Russian and Chuvash descent. It is from this diversity that she developed her talent for languages fluently speaking Estonian, Russian, English, French and Italian.
Less than three months after the 100th anniversary of Estonian Independence, Elina is hoping to give her beloved homeland another reason to be proud and celebrate.
