Delegation heads meet in Belgrade

Delegates were welcomed at the airport and Host Broadcaster RTS took care of transportation to the meeting venue. Meanwhile, earlier today, the Reference Group of the Contest came together to talk about the preparations in Belgrade and plans for the future. Behind the scenes, the EBU and its partners are preparing great new internet activities, an entertaining set of three Eurovision Countdown shows ánd a fantastic Winners Tour. Tonight, the guests were welcomed by an official opening cocktail, on the invitation of Host Broadcaster RTS.  

Tomorrow morning at 9:00 CET, the 43 delegation heads will gather to officially hand in their songs for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision.tv will keep you updated live on the latest developments throughout the day. 

At 16:15 CET, Eurovision.tv's esctv will broadcast the draw for the running order live online. During the show, hosted by Serbian broadcaster RTS, it will be decided in which order the participants in the first and second Semi-Final and the Final will take part. Later this week, it will be offically announced by the EBU if all entered songs apply to the Rules of the Contest and thus can take part in May.

The first Heads of Delegation meeting as we know it today took place in 1999, in Jerusalem. Thus, this year, the 10th annual Heads of Delegation meeting is taking place.
