Danish postcard to depict Emmelie's Copenhagen

04 April 2013 at 12:58 CEST

Just 35km away from this year's host city, Malmö, a production team from broadcaster SVT touched down in Copenhagen to film the postcard for the Danish entry, this year performed by the lovely Emmelie de Forest. The postcard, which is played before each performance will aim to give a glimpse into the lives of the participants and some of the things that make them tick. This, in stark contrast to previous years where the postcards were designed as promotion for the host country.

Emmelie de Forest will perform the song Only Teardrops in the first Semi-Final of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest on the 14th of May and her postcard will take a look at some of her favourite things to do in Copenhagen, when she is not singing or recording. We recently published an interview with Emmelie recorded just after she won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix back in January. Check it out!

Without wanting to reveal too much, Denmark's postcard will involve Emmelie taking a sushi course at the restaurant at the top of the Tivoli hotel, visiting the Glypoteket where she loves to bask in the artwork and sculptures and a trip to the Dyrehaven.

Below you can see an interview with Emmelie during the recording of her postcard (in Danish):
