Czech Republic will return to a live national final with ESCZ 2023

Czech Republic’s We Are Domi at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 Grand Final

Broadcaster Česká Televize has announced that for the first time in 15 years the Czech Republic will host a national selection show live from Prague; 'ESCZ 2023' will air on Monday 30 January.
Czech Head of Delegation Kryštof Šámal told eurovision.tv:
‘I am proud of how the ESCZ brand has grown in the Czech music scene; the platform is becoming extremely interesting and attractive.
I am pleased to announce that we have received an overwhelming response from the Czech music industry. More than 170 songs were submitted - mostly from Czech composers - and all with Czech vocalists. Picking just a handful of songs is getting more and more difficult and we hope to finalise the names of the finalists in the coming days.
More details about the show will be revealed in the coming weeks.’
Last year, We Are Domi represented the Czech Republic with the fan favourite Lights Out - which finished 4th in its Semi-Final, qualifying for the Grand Final.
