Cyprus starts audition shows tonight

07 December 2014 at 02:02 CET

Cyprus returns to Europe's favourite Tv show in 2015, having taken a break in 2014, and they are returning in style with no less than ten shows to be broadcast between now and the 1st of February.

There are 55 acts that will start out on the process, and during the first seven shows a jury will  select an undetermined number of acts to go through to the next phase. In the audition shows, the jury will be comprised of four judges. They are former Cypriot entrants, Elena Patroklou (1991) , Alex Panayi (1995 and 2000) and Despina Olympiou (2013), along with Tasos Trifonos.

Eurochallenge Shows

Programmes eight and nine in the series, the Eurochallenges shows, are on the 18th and 25th January 2015, and  will see the 20 acts that made it through the audition process reduced down to just ten by the jury. The judges will be joined by Swedish Head of Delegation, Christer Björkman, and composer and producer, Dimitris Kontopoulos.

From the final ten songs, six of them will make it through to the final; then the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite, as 50% of the votes will be in their hands. The jury members will be joined by former French Head of Delegation, Bruno Berberes for the final.

The Eurovision Song Project shows will be hosted by Antri Keratoni, and you can watch the first audition show tonight at 20.30 CET
