Nina Kraljić will represent Croatia in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. Now the official video of her song Lighthouse has been released.
While the official Croatian preview video, which we presented in March, showed the main motifs of Nina's Eurovision Song Contest entry - a Lighthouse and a stormy sea - the official video of the song shows hope in a much deeper sense. The director of the video, Filip Filković Philatz, explained that the main idea was to create a world that surrounds both the song and Nina as the main protagonist. "I think everyone is waiting to see a Lighthouse in the video but we have created a different kind of lighthouse than expected." Check out the video clip below, and look out for the "second Nina" to find the symbolic Lighthouse:
Nina Kraljić explains what the two Ninas in the clip symbolize: "We tell the story about Nina on planet Earth, who seeks a link to a spiritual Nina, who, unconcerned about earthly problems, peacefully floats in space and gives hope. At the end of the video, two dangerous actors, who symbolize Nina's problems, lead her away. She faces them but also realizes that she is not alone and there is hope."
Nina's promotional performances
These days Nina Kraljić has been focused on promoting her song both nationally and internationally. Last weekend she took part at Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam, and on 17 April she will present Lighthouse at the London Eurovision Party.
On 16 April she will open the semi-final show of The Voice – Najljepši glas Hrvatske. Nina had won the first season of the talent show and her first song Zaljuljali smo svijet subsequently became a hit. This Saturday she will sing Lighthouse for the Croatian public.
