Croatia: Jacques Houdek and Daria Kinzer to lock horns in Dora 2011 final26 February 2011 at 23:12 CET
Last week it was announced that Jacques Houdek and Mirko Švenda-Ziga had qualified through to tonights show which left one place up for grabs. The two acts in contention for that third and final spot were Katica Marinovic and Daria Kinzer. The hosts revealed that Daria Kinzer had made it through.
The singers had to perform two songs, one in English and one in their national language. The order of presentation was as follows (Qualifiers in bold) :-
Daria Kinzer - Žena Za Sva Vremena and The Best
Jacques Houdek - Dvije Duše and You Raise Me Up
Mirko Švenda-Ziga - You Raise Me Up and Bitanga I Princeza
Dino and Daniel special guests
There were two special guests this evening firstly the Bosnia & Herzegovina representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011,Dino Merlin. Dino performed his song which he will compete with in Düsseldorf, called Love in Rewind. The other special guest was Daniel Popovic, who also represented Yugoslavia in Europe's Favourite TV Show back in 1983 with Dzuli, which he performed to tremendous applause from the crowd.
A special meeting was held earler in the year by Croatian broadcaster HRT, in which they revealed that the three composers chosen to compose the songs for next week's final of Dora 2011 on Saturday 5th March would be Lea Dekleva, Ante Pecotić, and Boris Đurđević. The specially written songs will be premiered in the Dora 2011 final by Jacques Houdek and Daria Kinzer.
Croatia will participate in the second half of the First Semi-Final on Tuesday 10th of May in Germany.
