Croatia: Jacques against Mirko in the next round

At the beginning of the show it was announced that the 4th contestant who reached the highest number of televotes and thus progressed from the last week show was Katica Marinovic. She also started tonight's competition.

The singers had to perform two songs, one in English and one in their national language. They performed their second entry when all of them were done with the first one.  

So, the competetors performed in the following line-up (qualifiers in bold):

  • Katica Marinovic (Coco Mosquito - Idem Tamo Gdje Je Sve Po Mom; Pointer Sisters - I'm So Excited)
  • Darija Kinzer (Diane Warren - If I Could Turn Back Time; Vanna - Kao Rijeka)
  • Mirko Švenda-Ziga (Boa - Svi Tvoj Poljupci; The Beatles - Help)
  • Jacques Houdek (Prince - Kiss; T. Cetinski - Nek Ti Bude Ljubav Sva)

A special guest of this evening was Severina. She supported the contestants with her entries Moja Štikla and Gade.

One of the jury was Danijela Martinović, the representative in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest. She performed her melodical entry Neka Mi Ne Svane. Two other juries were Miran Hadživeljković and Ivanka Boljkovac. They critisised the contestants' entries and told their opinions whom they wanted to see in the final. They praised Jacques who inspired them with his entries.

At the end, it were TV viewers who gave Jacques  and Mirko the ticket to the next round with the highest number of their votes.

In next week's show, after the televotes have been counted, one more artist will join them, leaving three acts in the running. Then, one more will be voted out and the remaining artists will make it to the final on the 5th of March.


Croatia will participate in the second half of the First Semi-Final on Tuesday May 10th in Germany.
