Countdown: Top Facebook Posts of 2013

Our official Facebook page, received a lot of interest in 2013 so we thought it would be fun to pick out the top 10 Facebook posts of the season. So why not take a look through them and help us to celebrate an end to what was a fabulous year for the Eurovision Song Contest.

10. Tickets go on sale for Copenhagen

One of the biggest events of the year in Eurovision-land, where some of the most sought after tickets in the world go on sale. Naturally, our Facebook post on the eve of the first tranche of tickets being released was one of the most popular of 2013. 

9. Six months to go!

Everyone loves a countdown, and none more so than us! On the 6th of November it was exactly six month until the first Semi-Final of next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen and we wanted to shout about it! 

8. And the Danish final is off to Odense!

Quite surprisingly, the announcment that the Danish national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, will take place in the city of Odense in 2014 was one of our most popular Facebook posts of 2013. Coupleed with Denmark's hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest, it appears that there has been a renewed interest in what is already one of Europe's most popular national selection shows. 

7. It's time for some Loreen!

If there is one winner of the Eurovision Song Contest that can cause a stir, it is the one and only Loreen who still has a huge amount of fan appeal, even a year after her victory in Baku. When we announced her appearing on stage during the Grand Final, you all went mad! 

6. Eurovision goes big in China

This year, the Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast in the world's most populous country, China! Our announcement of this became one of the most popular Facebook posts of the year, signifying an unwavering support for the competition, not just in Europe but all over the World! 

5. 15 minutes to go!

Just 15 minutes before the Grand Final of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast live from Malmö we made one of most popular posts of the year... Just a few words was all it took for you all to get riled up about the most important night of the year. 

4. The host city for the 2014 contest is...

There was a lot more speculation than usual about the host city for next year's Eurovision Song Contest with Copenhagen and Herning battling hard for the right to host Europe's favourite TV show. So naturally when the decision was finally made, you were all over it and our Facebook post sparked a lot of discussion! 

3. Vote! Vote! VOTE!

The third most defining Eurovision Facebook moment of 2013 was when the phonelines opened on the night of the Grand Final in Malmö. For the first time viewers all across the continent could vote via our app where special videos recorded by the artists were played once a vote had been cast. Pure genius! Naturally, we got a little carried away... But it's ok. It's Eurovision!!  

2. Taking it all in!

About half an hour after the Grand Final was over, we asked you what you thought of the result. This became our second most popular Facebook post of the 2013! After having a little bit of time to let it sink in, you were all in the mood to discuss and give your opinions about Denmark's victory. 

1. Denmark has won!!

Rather unsurprisingly, the most popular Facebook post of 2013 was the one declaring Emmelie de Forest and Denmark the winners of the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. The biggest moment of the year was captured somewhat enthusiastically in block capitals with a lot of exclamation marks!
