Countdown to Amsterdam
16 April 2012 at 00:41 CESTA record of 24 participants from this year's contest will take part in this year’s Eurovision in Concert. This means more than half of the total line up in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be in the city in order to promote themselves for press and fans.
Eurovision in Concert will be organised for the fourth consecutive year. Back in 2009 it started off as something of a joke, but it turned quickly into a massive event, and is officially endorsed by EBU-UER and the Dutch broadcaster TROS.
Fans and press from all over Europe will come over to attend the event. Just like all previous editions the event consists of two elements: a day programme (for press only) and a concert later at night.
After an official welcome, all participants will be offered a guided tour through the famous canals of Amsterdam. The concert will take place at ‘Melkweg’, one of Amsterdam’s most popular music venues, which is located in the heart of the city centre.
The concert will be hosted by the 1993 Dutch Eurovision representative Ruth Jacott, and, former Dutch
commentator Cornald Maas.
The representatives of the following 24 countries will take part in the event:
- Ireland
- Spain
- Azerbaijan
- France
- Latvia
- Austria
- Hungary
- Finland

- Greece
- Slovenia
- Turkey
