10 November 2014 at 10:30 CET

During the show Gouden Uren on NPO Radio 2, Daniel Dekker from AVROTROS revealed that Trijntje Oosterhouse will represent the Netherlands at the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna next May.

On Friday we wrote that there was a rumour that Trijntje would be the successor to The Common Linnets, something that obviously turned out to be true!

Trijntje Oosterhuis said about the news of her participation, "I feel very honoured to have been asked to represent the Netherlands at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. After the good performances and results by Anouk and The Common Linnets the past two years, it is of course more exciting but also very fun. The song was co-written by Anouk and it is very nice that she wants to share her experiences of the contest with me".

A little bit of insight about what the song may be like:

Daniel Dekker from AVROTROS said, "with Trijntje Oosterhuis AVROTROS has once again won a major Dutch artist for the competition. We are extremely proud that she wants to represent our country. With the combination of Trijntje's beautiful voice and one of Anouk's songs, we confidentally look forward to the 60th anniversary edition of the biggest music event in the world".

More information about Trijntje's song will be released in due course.
