There are four coaches involved in the Belgian selection programme Eurosong 2014, Bart Peeters, Piet Goddaer, Jef Martens and the winner of the 2004 contest, Ruslana. Unfortunately the latter couldn't be present at the casting process yesterday, as she needed to be at home in her native Ukraine, due to the current political protests which are taking place there. However Ruslana will be present at the semi-finals.
Bart Peeters has previously hosted the Eurosong shows between 1999 and 2008, however this time he will have to put aside his neutral position and put his name behind the performers he feel are the best to represent the country.
Piet Goddaer is a singer, arranger and producer, and is one of the top name sin the Belgian rock and pop scene.
Jef Martens is a world renowned DJ and producer.
Dates for Eurosong 2014
The semi-finals will be held on the 23rd of February, the 2nd of March and the 9th of March.
The final of Eurosong 2014 will take place at the Sports Palace in Antwerp on the 16th of March, 2014. The show will be hosted by Peter Van de Veire and Eva Daeleman.
VRT says: the ones taking part at the final, will be secured a performance in a full house at the Sports Palace. This is the test on their way to the biggest stage of Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest.
As to which candidates have made it through to the semi-final stage, well they will be announced in February.
