Busy selection night for die-hard fans

Tonight, Denmark will choose four more finalists in the second semi-final of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2008. Last week, four acts already qualified for the final, which takes place on the 2nd of February. The show starts at 20:00 CET and can be watched live on the  event's website. Most fans seem to hope for better songs than last week, when broadcaster DR could not meet their high expectations.

10 songs will be performed in the second of three semi-finals in Lithuania. The top-4 qualifies for the final. The show can be watched live through the  web stream of LRT.

A little later, at 21:15 CET, Iceland continues its selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Laugardagslögin. After a long series of pre-selection events, three candidates take part in each semi-final. In each semi-final, two qualify for the final on the 23rd of February. Icelandic broadcaster RÚV  streams the event live.

Last night, Norway saw the second semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2008. Two acts qualified for the final, two others received wildcards for a second-chance heat. For Sven Garås and Cube, the Melodi Grand Prix adventure ended last night. They did not receive enough points to qualify and had to leave the competition.

Tonight is by far not the most busy selection night. February and March feature several busy weekends. A full overview of national selection events and other Eurovision Song Contest highlights can be found in the calendar.
