
Bulgaria sets the mood for 2013
26 September 2012 at 16:50 CESTRegarding online articles about Bulgaria's participation at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, their broadcaster BNT decided to release an official statement on the matter:
- BNT is in a process of preparing the regulations for the selection of the Bulgarian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013. All media will be informed as soon as it is absolutely clear. Official information about everything related to the competiton in Bulgaria is only submitted by the producer and organizer of the competition in Bulgaria and that is Bulgarian National Television (BNT). Information supplied by another source different than BNT should be considered incorrect and inaccurate."
Bulgaria has a short history at the Eurovision Song Contest making its debut in 2005 when Kaffe's Lorrain placed 19th in the Semi-Final in Kyiv. The country only reached the Final once, in 2007 with Water performed by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov which ultimately placed 5th giving Bulgaria their best placing to date,
Last year they were represented by Sofi Marinova who, after a tie for 10th place in the Second Semi-Final, almost qualified for the Final in Baku with Love Unlimited.
