Bulgaria has a short history at the Eurovision Song Contest making its debut in 2005 when Kaffe's Lorrain placed 19th in the Semi-Final in Kyiv. The country only reached the Final once, in 2007 with Water performed by Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov which ultimately placed 5th giving Bulgaria their best placing to date,

Last year they were represented by Sofi Marinova who, after a tie for 10th place in the Second Semi-Final, almost qualified for the Final in Baku with Love Unlimited.
