The 60th Israeli independence day is being celebrated across the country. Boaz, as representative of Israel at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest, is of course taking part in the celebration with his hits ánd The Fire In Your Eyes, his song for Belgrade.
From border to border, from stage to stage, the Israeli Pop Idol winner makes the crowds happy. After the last performance, Boaz travels to Ben Gorion International Airport, to fly to Belgrade with his manager and his Head of Press, to rest a little before the first Eurovision Song Contest rehearsals kick off. The rest of the Israeli entourage will arrive on the 11th of May.
Elad Weissman, Israel's Head of Press at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, says to Eurovision.tv: "After mourning in Israel's memorial day, we are celebrating our independence. We are proud to perform at Israel's 60th birthday, and hope we will bring our excitement to the stage in Serbia. I'm sure that Israel sends its warmth tonight for one of their favourite sons."
