Blue reveals "I Can" to the nation!

12 March 2011 at 01:28 CET

Graham Norton Show

Tonight, Blue performed their song to the nation on the Graham Norton Show. This was very apt as not only is Mr Norton the United Kingdom's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest, he is also the host of one of the UK's and Europe's most popular chat shows, which is watched by millions of people.

Blue had the honour of being on the show alongside stars including Hollywood actor Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and comedienne Jo Brand.

The Performance

The performance of I Can was sung with live vocals, giving everyone their first glimpse of how the song will sound in Düsseldorf, where all entries are required to be performed live.

The performance did not let anyone down as Blue showed their professionalism and experience as vocalists by giving an almost flawless performance. This went down extremely well in the studio, giving the boys a resounding endorsement.

The radio version of the entry has a slightly different vocal arrangement to the live performance but nonetheless the live version will hopefully do the United Kingdom proud in Düsseldorf on the 14th of May.

Press Conference

Yesterday lunchtime, Eurovision.tv were present at a press conference in central London where Blue presented their song, I Can to the press and discussed their participation in the 2011 edition of Europe's favourite TV show.

During yesterday's conference, Blue discussed their reasons for participation and their hopes for Düsseldorf with Anthony Costa saying, "It would be great to bring the Eurovision Song Contest back to Britain in 2012".

When discussing their performance band member Lee Ryan said, "We've always concentrated on giving a great vocal". This bodes well for the boys as they will be performing the song with live vocals on Graham's Norton's show.

They have also revealed plans to visit a number of nations to promote the song, including Germany, France, Italy and Bosnia & Herzegovina ahead of the contest.

The BBC have released a promotional video of I Can, which was filmed on a beautiful day in London. We recommend you check it out!
