Bilan, Laka and Maimon to win MTV Awards

Dima Bilan, the winner of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, won the prize of the Best Russian Act at the MTV European Music Awards.

Laka, who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at this year's contest with Pokusaj, won the Best Adrian Act. Next to those recent Eurovision Song Contest participants the one representing Israel in 2005, Shiri Maimon won the prize of the Best Israeli Act.

Another winner was Morandi (Best Romanian Act) who participated at the Romanian national selection. Kerli, the gothic-pop singer from Estonia (participated in the Estonian national selection in 2004), lost the fight for the Best Baltic Act. Also, Sergey Lazarev, who competed against Dima Bilan at the Russian national selection the last time, lost again to him and this did not get the prize of the Best Russian Act.
