The Greek-Canadian has released the song with which she will participate at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Katerine Duska wrote 'Better Love' together with the Scottish singer-songwriter David Sneddon.

Better Love is described by Greece's national broadcaster ERT as a song that refers to the eternal quest for a higher love, one that is deep, unconditional and unapologetic.

Katerine herself explains: “I wanted to write a song that would sound like an invitation, feel like an embrace. A tender song with a fighting spirit about a word we profusely use, but rarely actually mean. It really is the way to love, whomever you love.”

Better Love was written by Katerine with David Sneddon, and the music is by Katerine, David Sneddon and Leon of Athens. The music video was directed by Efi Gousi.

Greece in Eurovision

Greece joined the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1974 but never finished higher than 5th. That changed during the turn of the century, when Antique took third place in 2001 with Die For You. Sakis Rouvas took 3rd place again in 2004 with Shake It before Helena Paparizou returned as a solo artist to deliver Greece’s one and only victory to date in 2005 with My Number One. In fact, between 2003 and 2013, Greece only missed out on a top 10 finish once. Last year, Yianna Terzi finished 14th in her Semi-Final, meaning Greece missed out on the Grand Final for the second time in three years.

Do you think Katerine Duska will take Greece to the Grand Final again, after missing out last year? Let us know in the comments!
